Put a bullet in it, Discover is dead. SO this weekend, they finally tell us what it means now that Discover is "Morgan Stanley Dean WItter Online". Besides being a mouthful, our commission schedule is subject to "preferred pricing" until March. After which time we get gouged in the wallet by their new pricing scheme, "an exceptional value". Personally I find the current pricing an exceptional value, and the new one an exorbitant gouge. And for what? What do we get new? Brokers and bricks. If I wanted brokers and bricks I'd have opened an account with a brokers and bricks brokerage! Anyone identify a good place to transfer to?
