Story 3796 DJ MIH Ltd./OpenTV -2: Investors Include AOL, News Corp.
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--MIH Ltd. (MIHL) said six companies purchased about
$31.25 million of convertible preferred equity in OpenTV, its indirectly
controlled interactive television software unit.
In a press release Monday, MIH said it expects the investment to expand
OpenTV's U.S. position and the range of products the unit offers.
The companies include America Online Inc. (AOL), General Instrument Corp.
(GIC), Liberty Digital Inc. (LDIG), News Corp. (NWS), Time Warner Inc. (TWX)
and Sun Microsystems Inc. (SUNW).
Nasdaq-listed shares of MIH recently traded at 41 5/8, up 5 1/8, or 14%.
