BGR,
I take it that the paragraph was directed at me (in part). I
welcome your opinion. I have always welcomed your opinion, and I
have agreed with you at times. I have never advised my friends or
family of an "impending crash" - but have pointed out that markets
do go down as well as up, and that the reward of remaining in the
market is at times not commensurate with the risks.

I have made most of my money in the markets with carefully selected
longs, I DCA into index funds, rarely short, and I was bullish until this last April, when oil prices began to rise.

My intention is not to "silence" others - that is the tactic of the
revolutionary. I have no desire to change others, and so I naturally
distrust those who desire to change me. Persuasion is a more
complex set of behaviors than simply calling someone "stupid" or
"wrong" and then arrogantly parading one's superficial learning.
And, I resent those who attempt to tar me with the wide brush of
militant bearishness simply because I choose to associate here.

At times I find your and PC's comments to be boorish and smug, and
this is what I protest. I hope you will remain, but the attitude
will go away. I have never referred to anyone as a "JOTT".
It simply isn't my style.
