I have seen the use of either "cautiously optomistic" and "guardly optomistic" being used in almost every company's earnings report just like the Fair Harbor Historical Data Statement. They are being recommended by a lot of lawyers. I have seen this phrase used primarily by companies that have good future growth possibilities. Simply put I would either read nothing into it or read it as a positive, because a company that was looking at deteriorating growth prospects would never make such a statement knowing how it can come back to haunt them. I take it as a possitive and frankly if they would not have included this statement I would be worrying about the future. The stock will go up and the dollar crisis will stablize. I think the run up in the dollar right now might be a shorts trying to cover. In fact it is at 125.7 yen that is down from yesterdays high of 127. You know the Japanese can also dump dollars they might be holding and drop the dollar themselves. Rubin can only say what the US will or will do he can't control the rest of the world.
