Richard,

Maybe the spirit of your "offering" would be better recieved if you chose not to constantly misquote me (claiming I said that gold has little worth, for instance).

But great... if companies can make a buck selling specimen gold or Black Hills gold, or what have you, that's fine with me.. More power to them in being able to appeal to those folks who like natural art.

My point is that selling artistic gold is a far cry different than melting it down and making bricks out of it. That specimen gold loses the majority of its value once it is melted down. Thus, we're talking apples and oranges here, specimen gold (the value of which fluctuates based upon its peculiar form or shape) and gold bullion.

I'll heartily agree with you that eccentric gold/quartz formations are quite beautiful and can be quite valuable as collectors items. But then again so are original Continental Dollar notes or even Confederate currency or Spanish minted Pieces of Eight...

The value is in its collectibility and current condition, not in its inherent worth by weight or measure.

Btw, do you note how Ole 49r is unwilling to discuss the "fine print" about this operation she and Roy are involved in? Geezz... trying to get people to send money over the internet to buy Trommel "slices"... Incredible gall on their part... with no guarantee that findings wind up in the proper slice paid for by a given customer. Yeah sure...

I'd have better odds playing a black spot on a Roulette wheel.

Regards,

Ron
