How come you count the Balkans to Europe's
environs ??
As I have learned it, Europe is all that is East of the Atlantic, North of the Mediterranean (and Black Sea), and West of the Ural ... :-) Otherwise, I am with you, of course, dear fellow.
The question on which terms, and on which time-scale to extend the EU (not Europe, but the EU), to the East and South is of course one of the most interesting of the era. However, as far as I see, there is little public interest around here, people let the professionals decide for them. How deplorable the state of EU democracy!
