A effective marketing force would still be viewed favorably by me. "Effective" means profitable in this sense.

I would like to interject my missing thought since I helped instigate this thought line, and see it now with a clearly visible logic flaw.

IF!- the acquisition was a profitable enterprise with shorter than a 2-3 year ATROI, then I would personally view it favorably.

However, why would any owner consider selling a 2-3 year ATROI asset, unless .... the current owner did not know what one of the isomers could achieve? SEPR clearly has the skills to be able to explore this type of missing information.
