>>Lots of cheerleading here for about 3 months now. Why have none of these great things that are usually observed here on this thread generated a higher share price?<<
The quick answer is that I believe that it is because that the majority of Canadians are conservative investors! Based on my observations, I feel that we as Canadians often have a hard time getting excited about a company's potential and are slow to act. We also have an even a harder time shelling out money to invest in newer "home grown" growth companies. I also feel that to a large extent, this is why we as Canadians have been losing many of our good companies to the US markets.
So what has happened over the past number of months? Well, Net Shepherd / Answers.com has announced that they have completed their re-structuring, and have signed three pretty strategic licensing agreements which significantly complement their core services. They have also told us that they are deep in negotiations with significant potential customers, and they have their focus on getting on NASDAQ.
I beg to differ with you in that I believe that what has primarily been posted on this thread is not what I would call cheer leading. I prefer to describe it as a discussion of the potential of this restructured and much stronger, more well positioned company. I also believe that the vast majority of the contributions that have been made to the thread for the past number of months has been more of an examination of what they could conceivably do as a result of their efforts.
All that said, I also accept that many people (especially in Canada) are of the "I'll believe it when I see it" school of investing.
I, on the other hand, tend to get excited when I see the potential of an idea. When I see what I consider as a great idea complimented by a strengthened infrastructure and alliances, then I really tend to pay close attention.
I firmly believe that when when we all get to see what this company has accomplished, and the tremendous potential they offer organizations has been validated by significant revenue generating contracts - then I, in turn will be handsomely rewarded.
In a nutshell, they will be able to provide companies with the ability to offer "real time" access to content experts while providing their customers with a superior level of service while on-line. It is just common sense that any on-line organization would want to provide this service to their customers! Remember what Ralph Waldo Emmerson said . . . "Society is always taken by surprise at some new example of common sense".
The company is now in the process of finalizing negotiations so that they can show their stuff to the world. Now, I also believe that many, more conservative investors will be caught flat footed when this company is ready to come out from behind closed doors.
As far as I am concerned, it is common sense to dig deep into the potential of the companies you invest in. The more information you find, and share, the more informed decisions you will be able to make. All that said, I for one don't plan on being taken by surprise. Others may be, but not me.
