according to my tallies, in the U.S. during the third quarter, cdma subs have now captured the overwhelming majority of the market: Non cdma: At&T new subs = 269,000 voicestream new subs = 125,000 cdma: sprint new subs = 720,000 gte new subs = 510,000 u.s. west new subs = 60,000 bell atlantic mobile new subs = 267,000 some of these numbers may also include the three people who signed up for analog service. still waiting for some of the baby bells (and PacBell) that use gsm as well as airtouch that is a cdma carrier.
