For those doing serious work with their computers, the Athlon is still the better choice:

With 266 VC DDR SDRAM the margin will widen.

Also, too bad for Intel that with the release of the CuMine, the $3500 and $1900 Zeons with 2 MB and 1 MB of cache are gone -- to be replaced with $750 Cumines (as IBM points out, anyone who buys a CuMine based Zeon is an idiot).

PS: CuMine power consumption is very impressive. Too bad Merced's won't be.
