I've just recently been researching investing in this company... Could you provide me with the details of when BCE tried to purchase Bruncor? Also.. from reading the recent headlines on the net they want 53%.

Does anyone think the share price will hold at $27 if the purchase went through? Looking at AIT this is an interesting merger with all the other telcos in that region.. but I am a little skeptical about the long term growth of this company.

The maritimes aren't known as an area for incubating "High Tech" industries (please all.. I mean no offense to those in that area). What I mean to say is that in Canada the hot beds of the tech industry are known to be Ottawa and Toronto.

From my preliminary visit to their webpage... I see they have minority interests and aliances with other tech/IT companies. Whether or not these will bear fruit is another thing. To those who have followed these companies before the merger into Aliant... How was performance.. in earnings, share price, and did they provide technological inovations.

Are there other motives for BCE gaining greater control of Aliant? Can BCE pull off the increased ownership in Aliant?
