rt.marketwatch.com this site is good for real time at a reasonable price.

I'm currently paying $75 a month for real time news but I would probably use this service if I weren't getting it 'piped in' the trading room gratis.

Although you can't click through for the entire article I find it is 'less delayed' than yhoo. One of my problems is that I can't follow news too much during the day because it has proven a little distracting to trading the oftimes volatile stocks that could be reversing while you are catching up on news.

To counteract that, I have a stock portfolio that I load either into the Reuters Real time news feed so I get only news on my own portfolio in real time or Telescan has my portfolio in 15 minute delayed time. Since I'm not a momentum player of 'unprepared for' stocks I'm not terribly interested in real time news. However it is important to have someone other than myself (in the real time trading forum, for instance) tracking news. I am sure that AOL's failure to tank like some other stocks was due to the news Susan found out. But I was too busy with BVSN and AGIL to even find the time to check the portfolio news. You sometimes need to spread yourself out a little less, so you can concentrate on one or two important trades.

Of course if you are not currently in 2 or 3 trades and are searching for a potential than news is ideal. We plan to have real time news headlines probably from Reuters or Bloomberg on a ticker on the chat room. Whatever we decide will not distract us from the trading.
