Mohan, from my experience, computer education is actually quite widespread in Kerala, since the graduating generation considers it the ticket to a lucrative job. The illiteracy reported by George Iype is limited to government "servents". It is more accurate to call them government serpents. All government jobs are considered sinecures, and the only thing the serpents are interested in is to see how much money they can squeeze out from the government (through strikes) and the public (through bribes). Of course, both the commie and congress governments have made enough provisions in the KSR (Kerala Service Rules) to preserve this state of affairs.
