Oh, and Japan would have surrendered peacefully if we hadn't nuked them. That whole kamakazee thing was just a joke.

strongly disagree. there was very little chance of a Japanese surrender. Their defense of Okinawa showed a small slice of what it would be like. And from a military perspective the Kamikaze was very effective. It imposed large damage and casualties on the US in exchange for a lesser cost. No one in the US military thought it was a joke.
