Former Nortel Asia Pacific President Takes New Post With Alteon WebSystems
Steve Wood Named Alteon's Vice President of Asia Pacific Operations
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Alteon WebSystems (Nasdaq: ATON - news) today announced the appointment of Steve Wood to the newly created position of vice president of Asia Pacific Operations.
Mr. Wood has over 10 years of direct networking industry experience in sales and marketing with the Asia Pacific region and joins Alteon WebSystems from Nortel Networks where he held the position of president of Nortel Networks Carrier Packet Solutions business unit. Mr. Wood has been with Nortel Networks since 1991 when he joined SynOptics/Bay Networks.
In his new capacity with Alteon, Mr. Wood will be responsible for directing all sales, marketing, and support activities within the Asia Pacific region. In 1998, Asia Pacific represented approximately 12 percent of the Alteon's revenue.
