The X-Stream Network Launches FREE Internet Services in Denmark with Distribution Partner Statoil
Strategic Alliance With Denmark's Leading Petrol Retailer Marks the Launch of X-stream's Fourth Country
COPENHAGEN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--October 26, 1999-- The X-Stream Network (NASDAQ OTCBB: XSNI - news), the UK's third largest and first free ISP, today announced that it has launched its innovative free ISP portal service in Denmark, just weeks after launching services in Sweden and Norway. The Danish launch marks X-Stream's fourth country to date and reinforces its position as one of Europe's most rapidly expanding Internet Service Providers.

X-Stream will distribute its unique software and FREE Internet service through its web site (http://x-stream.dk) and via Statoil retail outlets. Statoil is Denmark's largest petrol retailer with 366 stations and over one million customer transactions per week.

Paul Myers, Chief Operating Officer of The X-Stream Network and Managing Director of X-Stream UK, said, ''Statoil is more than just Scandinavia's largest petrol retailer. Statoil stations act as a local mini supermarket, video rental shop and CD retailer and it is often the retail lifeline and central consumer focus of many communities. Just as we have done in Sweden and Norway, we have tied up with a widely known retail partner which has an extensive network to distribute The X-Stream Network's service.''

Christopher Sukornyk, President & Chief Technology Officer of The X-Stream Network, added, ''The service enables people who travel within Scandinavia to continue to access the Internet from any of the territories where X-Stream operates. This could be of particular benefit to business users who travel frequently within Scandinavia. Business users can use their existing account and connect at local call rates in Denmark, Sweden or Norway by simply changing the phone number they dial. Of course, X-Stream's Client software makes changing phone numbers easy and allows users to connect with their preferred language.''

Users will benefit from all regular X-Stream offers such as X-StreamailPlus, 10 email addresses, free fax and voicemails direct to their email inbox (via a personal phone number), FREE personal web site with 50Mb of space and unlimited Internet access - all at the cost of a local phone call.

Nanna Absdol, product manager from Statoil, said, ''Statoil's objective is to add value to our customers and offer the very best in service and technology. The service offering from X-Stream is the very best in Internet technology, and the fact that it is 100% FREE will amaze our customers as much as it did us. We are excited about the impact this will have on our market.''

The X-Stream Network Denmark will also offer a local version of X-Stream Central (http://x-stream.dk) featuring live, up to the minute news provided by partners Politiken, the on-line version of one of Denmark's leading newspapers, and Egmont On-line, Denmark's leading entertainment portal. This will complement proprietary content generated by X-Stream's in-house editorial team.

Stefan Waldeck, X-Stream's Director of Sales and Marketing for Scandinavia, added, ''Denmark has significant growth potential and X-Stream is well positioned with its high quality, free offering. According to ACNielsen, 43% of Danes are now using the Internet and about 68% of them are surfing from home. Along with solid growth in online advertising and shopping, this is a very good time for X-Stream to enter the Danish market.''

Already committed to advertising with X-Stream Denmark are Amazon.co.uk, Audiostreet, DVD Street, Alphabet Street, Games Street and Ritz Casino.
