Mon 25 Oct 99 News Release
Mr. Brad Carr reports
SCS Solars Computing Systems Inc. has reached a three-year contract with
one of Canada's premier tour operators, Air Transat Holidays, western
division.
Since its foundation in 1987 Air Transat has pursued its mission to be the
leading tour operator and charter air carrier operating internationally.
With an annual passenger load of 2.5 million air travellers Air Transat is
recognized as one of the major tour operators in Canada.
Under this contract, Air Transat Holidays wishes to maximize sell-off
circular distribution to travel agents through the Solarnet Travel Network.
Historically operators have distributed updates and travel specials through
the labour- and cost-intensive method of taxing. This hit and miss method
is not only seen as time consuming, but is also not considered
cost-effective. With Solarnet's distribution solution Air Transat Holidays
will be capable of posting bulletins, which are immediately accessible
electronically by travel agents, through their existing GDS/CRS on-line
terminals.
Air Transat Holidays, a wholly owned subsidiary of Transat A.T. Inc. in
Montreal, offers charter flights out of five major Canadian gateways.
