And well it should, IMHO.

The Axis was most certainly weakened, and their mobility reduced, by the bombing of the oil fields in what's now considered Eastern Europe. Their factories were badly damaged and war materials manufacture slowed. It didn't cause an end to the war in Europe, but it was a contributing factor, IMHO.
As to Japan...if one includes the dropping of the atom-bomb as part of the air war, then it had the ultimate effect.
