Heck, I'd take the millions. But sit back and watch some fools destroy what I created? No way. At least I hope I wouldn't. And you wouldn't either.

You know, this sounds like a lot of people I know that have tried to start small companies, or even people that are working for some big ones. Everything starts out great... you have a great idea, you are working with your friends... but then - the venture capital comes in.

Of course everybody knows those guys are a bunch of vultures... they start firing everybody who isn't executive material (usually determined by whether they have a Stanford MBA or not)... they implement hierarchy etc. and the party is over.

The problem is, the alternative, without management infrastructure, is just as bad. Because if the Dwyers had keep SI as autonomous, CNET or yahoo or somebody would have cannibalized it and that is almost worse.
