Internet Banking Stocks Could Be Beginning to Move

by: Theo Spradlin

Worldwide electronic commerce is forecast by some to be as
high as $1 trillion by 2003. Given the prevalence of such bold
estimates, the fervor surrounding Internet banking stocks earlier
this year seems justified. This morning one of the favorites for
proponents of Internet banking stocks is showing early signs of
rejuvenation.

Net.Bank, Incorporated {NTBK} showed a positive opening
gap, broke above the 50-day moving average line, and moved to
the top of its current channel to test longstanding resistance at
$25 this morning. The stock has been in a range for the last
three months with a base around $20 and a top of $25. Today's
move and early volume surge indicate renewed interest in the
stock. NTBK was one of Wall Street's favorite stocks earlier
this year and shot to a pre 3-for1 split price of $249 in April.
Despite its lackluster performance for the last six months,
NTBK still shows a one year gain of 335 percent. NTBK shows
a five year projected earnings growth rate of 55 percent, in the
top two percent of all stocks. For further indication of a new
upward trend for the stock, watch for a close above $25 and
then above the 100-day moving average line.
