Looks like Ampex issued a later, more detailed press release that said, in part:

"The verdict returned today relates only to infringement of one of the Company's patents which is used in picture-in-picture television sets. Ampex has asserted additional infringement claims against Mitsubishi with respect to infringement of Ampex patents in connection with various VCR products. No date has been set for a trial of these claims."

Not sure why the trials are separate - might be because of the highly technical nature of the patent claims - you wouldn't want to confuse the jury by throwing all three at them at the same time. Also, the litigation costs Ampex has reported of $9 mil thus far is most likely for all three suits, not just this one. Much of the costs in patent litigation is probably in the preparation for a trial, not when you're in the courtroom. I thought one of the other suits involved 8mm recording technology, but perhaps I'm wrong. VCR could mean 8mm recording, though.

I'm certain that the other TV manufacturers are using very similar, if not the same, technology in their PIP designs. So if they might be additional sources for patent infringement claims. Again, since most of the money has been spent in the preparation for a trial, it probably makes sense to go after the others, if they have infringed on your patent.
