Fight Club is, in my completely self-centered opinion, destined to be a classic. Disguised in its promotion as a star-driven thriller, it's not what anyone I know thought it would be.

I can say that it's impacted my life in many, many ways. Showed me myself, so to speak, as great art often does.

I'd go into it, but like the first rule says, "Don't talk about Fight Club."

I saw American Beauty (which is quite similar and similarly quite powerful) a week before. It left me totally occupied. Fight Club left me gasping for air. I'd imagine that that's a subjective reaction, but that's how it was.

Both are brilliant. See them. It is heartening that Hollywood made these sorts of movies (along with Sixth Sense), and putting all those resources to thoughtful use for the fist time in a long time.

Can't wait for Being John Malkovich and Man in the Moon.
