Just got back on line. As hurricanes go it was not a very bad one--I have been here since before Luis-- but as usual there is always something new on St. Maarten.

After the hurricane went by, we were hit by 16 in. of rain. Hard to believe that a small island like this would have floods but we had them. One dead and 135 treated at the medical center for other injuries. Locals say they have not seen such rain since the 1960's.

Some places still with no water and elec. but slowly everything getting back to normal.

I live at the very end of Pelican Key in Pelican Cove. White houses with red roofs.Right on the rocks about 10 ft. above the sea.
