In this test, BRCD kicked ANCR's butt. This explains, 12 to 18 months later, why Ancor lost so many OEM's....Dell, Compaq, IBM, Clarion...An investor could at the time infer there was a reason beyond salesmanship that Brcd was winning all the time...They had a significantly better switch, and it was available. On the other hand, Ancor has won a few OEM's, and judging from the recent stock movement, may win some more. I trust from the CC information that the new Ancor switch closes the gap in performance quite a bit. Ancor got into the SAN market late, and has been playing catch-up. They obviously have good engineers, as judged by their rapid entry into the SAN market and rapid switch development. They also have good management. So I will be watching the OEM score (and relative stock prices) going forward to see which switch is better, because the comparison data gets published about 12 to 18 months late. As a long term Ancor investor, I am confident going forward. wj |
