If the fix is specifically to bypass a hardware problem then I would accept there was a problem with the hardware. Who can tell without source code access. What I do know for sure is that on a scale of 1 to 10 I would put this problem at about a 1. And to give you an idea of the calibration of my scale, I would say a chipset recall the day before shipment is about a 9.
