Karen: I wasn't at the Metcalfe speech where he made the November 8 crash prediction. I should also add (before Cheeky gets around to it) that Metcalfe is famous for saying that the Internet was going to collapse because of runaway growth. What I was told was that 11/8 was a little bit arbitrary, but he thought there would be enough bad news out about third quarter earnings and people would be getting really antsy about what they don't know about Y2K. If you want, Bob Metcalfe has a regular column in InfoWorld (www.infoworld.com) where he has probably discussed this. Christine
