Paul and all, Barbie PC web site:
barbiepc.com
For those children who aren't blessed (or cursed, depending on your point-of-view) with the Y chromosome, there is a Barbie PC for sale. Every component in the system is decorated with pink flowers. The case looks like a curved micro-tower, and it even has a pink handle on top. The processor is an Intel Celeron 333 (upgradeable to higher speeds). The system comes with all the trimmings of a low-end computer, including CD-ROM drive, 3G hard disk, 32M of memory, fax modem, 15" monitor, and speakers. There is also a huge suite of bundled software, including lots of "Barbie" titles, plus educational software and other stuff. There's even a "Barbie Photo Designer," complete with its own digital camera.
Starting price is $599.
Although the idea sounds rather corny, the total package looks too good to overlook. I think that digital camera thing is one of the best features of this "pink PC," considering how little girls (or even big girls) will go crazy over taking photos, especially those which will appear on the PC instantly and without film.
