Guthrie Stewart is President and Chief Executive
Officer of Teleglobe Canada Inc. Prior to his
appointment in August 1996, he was Executive
Vice-President, Corporate Development at
Teleglobe Canada's parent company, Teleglobe Inc.
Mr. Stewart also sits on the boards of several other
Teleglobe Inc. subsidiaries and serves as Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of the Teleglobe Media
Enterprises Division.

From 1987 until he joined Teleglobe in 1992,
Guthrie Stewart was Vice-President, General
Counsel and Corporate Secretary of BCE Mobile
Communications Inc., a company co-founded in
1987 by BCE Inc. and Teleglobe's current Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer, Charles Sirois. Prior to
that, Mr. Stewart practised law for several years in
the Toronto office of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt.

Mr. Stewart was until recently a member of the
Canadian government's Sectorial Advisory Group on
Information Technologies for trade-related issues
and has chaired the group's Task Force on Basic
Telecommunications Services. A member of both
the Québec and Ontario Bars, he has also served
on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar
Association, Québec Division. In addition, Mr.
Stewart is a past-Chairman of the Board of the
RadioComm Association of Canada, the national
industry association of mobile service providers. He
is a founding trustee of the International Children's
Institute, a member of the Boards of the Douglas
and Sainte-Justine hospitals, a member of the
Patient Services Steering Committee for the merger
of hospital services under the McGill University
Health Centre, and a Montreal Council member of
the Canadian Institute of International Affairs.

Mr. Stewart was born in Sherbrooke, Québec in
1955. He is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School
in Ontario and the INSEAD international MBA
program in Fontainebleau, France.
