John--In someways the San Francisco Bay area would be a prime area to hold the race. It would allow some of the best viewing for spectators. I have been to Auckland and seen the harbor any number of times but I am not sure where they are holding the race. I am more familiar with the Bay area. I agree though that the Newport Yacht Club should have it again. I also agree with the post to me that Black Magic was the best boat. However the lack of competition between defenders will hurt the Kiwis IMHO. In the past the American defense was decisively helped by tough battles between defenders. All the Best Druss
