Hi all, The algorithm by AMTX is not complex. It's easy to compete with AMTX.
As far as I understand, AMTX's is developing a telephone modem that does
a wave-let transformation so that you can splilt the regular sound channel
(say from 1kHz to 20kHz) into 1000 channels and monitor the frequency change
in each channel. So instead of 1 channel sending 28.8kbps, you have 1000
channel pumping 28.8kbps at the same time. I believe there are many readily
available algorithms available to do this. Some of them have been in the text
books for maybe 30-50 years? So I don't understand how amati can hold a solid
patent on this and how this patent can prevent other companies from entering
the market. And above all, how a smart ass in some big company would convince
his boss to pay royalties to amati?
Please send me any information regarding the technical superority of
AMTX. I am a beginner in this group and bought a few shares after reading the
discussions, but I am starting to feel uneasy after learning a bit more of
their technology. I am afraid this company is going to make just another brand
telephone modem without the manufacturing and technical manpower of its
competitors
Thanks for you response in advance.
