Bryan,
First let me say I believe that MXP shareholders got shortchanged at 7-1. Secondly if somebody wants to add to their position I would by the PDP common. Now to my point, recently utilities have been deregulated creating an opertunity for massive mergers between utilities and energy producers. Over the next couple of years I believe that you will see energy companies purchased by utilities at premimums. The cash rich utilities will purchase the reserve rich energy firms. Prime takeover targets would be Enron, Anadarco, etc., large independent oil and gas producers. RR may be positioning himself to take advantage of these mergers.
