Bill, re: Screwdriver shops. Out here the big guys can't compete with them. Fry's sells more $parts to hobbyists and SD shops than it sells $computers.

<small SD shops are getting screwed on memory now>
Fry's out here advertised 32M EDO memory for 29.95 Sunday, price good through Tuesday. It must have been a typo. I tried to buy 4 for a system I'm making mostly out of spare parts and they'd only sell me two, pointing to some fine print at the bottom of the ad -- we reserve the right... etc, etc. Then today they said they were out of stock but gave me a raincheck with no expiration.

Long story, but I think the point is, SDRAM will soon be back to $1 a megabyte.

PS, Fry's still has 3 Athlon systems on display. Only one PIII-600. Obviously, no coppermines.
