Probable impact of akam ipo on isld: You said: ISLD- Bottom line is that ISLD is still Undervalued. First off that Lehman $55 target will get demolished...second when AKAM hits the street at 7-9B you think ISLD(essentially Sandpiper will be sitting at 1B)....Ahhhhhhh NO! From a news link on AKAM thread: Viador was one of two companies that made their debuts on Tuesday, ahead of a series of more keenly awaited deals later in the week. ''I suspect the other deals coming up this week pushed this deal into the shadow. I know if I had money to spend this week, I wound push it to the others like Akamai, which you know is going to be a blow-out,'' said Irv DeGraw, research director at WorldFinanceNet.com. ''I think Viador will be OK longer term, but it's not as sexy as the other guys.'' Bottom line: IMO today is probably last opportunity to buy before spike really starts tomorrow and friday. Metaphorically speaking we are on a voyage which embarked monday amidst the excitement of the ISLD and sandpiper merger announcement. The hype and press coverage carried isld to a high of 54 intraday tuesday before profit-taking took it back to 48 7/8 by end of afterhours trading. Today those still on board will begin to get nervous and restless. The adrenaline hype of Monday has subsided and friday's debut of AKAM is two days away. With NAZ futures down 10 as I write, it is reasonable to anticipate some choppiness today which can produce buying opportunities. As the isld ship nears port tomorrow and friday, the AKAM IPO excitement will carry isld stock price toward 100 - I am assuming akam will hit the trading floor over 200 much like scmr did last week. Disclosure: I have 2000 shares of isld at 33/sh and if we dip intraday below 45 i will buy 500-1000 more. Have no plans to jump ship before AKAM trades. Champagne waiting on the dock friday with trucks to carry profits<g> This is really the greatest of plays short of Netscape at 16/sh last year. Good fortune to all. you won't need luck on this one.
