CRANBURY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 27, 1999--Ariel Corp. (Nasdaq:ADSP), a leading supplier of remote access solutions for ISPs and OEMs, today announced that it has appointed Charles Strauch to its board of directors.
Strauch brings more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to Ariel, with particular expertise in applying broadband technology to the service provider market and international carrier businesses.

Strauch served as chairman and chief executive officer of PairGain from 1991 to 1998. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of MSI Data Corp., president and COO of Memorex, and executive vice president for the electronics and electrical group at Gould.
Strauch is a founding trustee, a major benefactor, and the current chairman of the board at Landmark College, a leading internationally-recognized college exclusively dedicated to the education of adults with learning disabilities. He holds a bachelor's of science in engineering from Lehigh University and an honorary Doctorate degree in education from Landmark College.
