Hi Doug,

Don't know much about Solaris but I see Rudedog has already answered the question. The other thing is that IBM's ace here would be the fact that they could most likely offer a package deal where IBM services would handle the conversion process from A to Z and try to make it as painless for Ebay as possible. In addition, if they are looking for RAS, I don't think Alpha is comparable to S/390, so if that is the key the battle would be over.
