Satellite broadband is what a lot of people think is the next big broadband push -- by some reports estimated to overtake cable by 2007 or before. GMH, Panamsat (SPOT) & others are racing to put up birds w/ broadband capabilities but apparently Loral is the only one with a system up there now (I think its the Orion system). Apparently it has ka band and can/will convert to Ku band -- good source for this is www.skyreport.com who say Lor has a good headstart. Also I think there's some info on broadband on Lor's web site. PXInet recently announced leasing transponder space on one of LOR's birds which I think was for broadband internet access so you might look there for more news. This is very cursory & not sure I have the details 100% right but this is gist of my understanding. I've been wondering when Lor was going to get off its rear and cue the pubic in on this to help out the share price. It, rather than GSTRF, has been my main interest in the stock.
