My viewpoint is that people should do their own research.

How can you be opposed to that?

The SEC handles cases of fraud.

If you are not willing to do your own research on a company then you are at the mercy of those that give you the information. If you own one share of a company, you have the right to look at the books and see whats happening. Most people don't go that far.

How can you be opposed to doing your own research?

To me it would be very risky to run a program to randomly pick a stock symbol, and then purchase say 10,000 shares of it without even looking at what the company did.

Its your right to oppose that the buyer should beware. You have that right. But I will always look before i leap.
