Actually, I think it is just good earnings. SIVB stumbled a bit on the Asia financial crisis, so it gave some of us an opportunity to buy low this past year. The last few days have been especially rewarding. Guess I should have bought more at 23, although most of my shares were bought when SIVB was really scraping bottom around 18. Up until the Asian mess, this was one of the most steady, always rising, non-glamorous stocks I have ever seen. It should be real good going forward. I hope they are not bought out.
