Interestingly the first patent was filed in the beginning of 1992. These material systems patents are interesting. I remember in the early days of the high-temperature superconductors someone patented noble metal contacts.....

Duh!

Not that what Nakamura did wasn't absolutely amazing. He was the David who slew Goliath.

I guess we must be wearing off on the Japanese with regard to lawsuits.
