If that is the case, then I am do agree that these folks were not given the appropriate time for their ideas to pan out. But many others have been bearish for a long time now and have been calling for index crashes, which simply hasn't happened. Given that the S&P and the DAQ are both hugely positive YoY, I respectfully posit that lately the later group has been quite wrong, actually.

Please note that I have been talking about indexes all along, and not individual equities or sectors. I do not know of the average buy and holder, but the buy and holder of the averages has actually done very well for the year ending in October so far (and of course in several previous years).
