A 400 MHZ CPU was priced around $480 a year ago, and sold for &40 today.

The price point that AMD sells to MSFT will be at least 2 quarters away (not including the current quarter). The price of Athlon will decline substantially in this
timeframe anyway.

Anyone know what the rough mhz the chip runs playstation II vs. that of Athlon?

If Athlon 600 Mhz delivers comparable performance to playstation II, then, $50-60 for athlon 600 3 quarters from now may not be a bad deal for AMD at all.
