Time to blow some steam. The whole Needham downgrade thing pisses me off it's so obviously manipulative. Didn't Hans' base his argument for downgrading CUBE on his assumption that CUBE was losing VideoCD share to ESST (which was true in the past), on his incorrect belief that production of VideoCD players was being hampered by a shortage of CD loaders, and on his miscalculation of VideoCD demand and how much of that demand would accrue to CUBE versus ESST? Didn't Alex blow a hole in the second and third assumption and reassure everyone that
the loss of VideoCD share was being reversed and that, in fact, demand for VideoCD is accelerating? Didn't Alex also say that Divicom is performing above expectations and that DVD will probably be bigger than expected? So how can Hans recommend a "buy" on CUBE yesterday
before his assumptions were proved false, and a "hold" today after his assumptions are proved false? Hey, wait a minute! Wasn't Hans' estimate WRONG? I guess I shouldn''t worry about that nitwit since the market is obviously capable of seeing through the smoke and mirrors and is trashing ESST appropriately today, while CUBE would probably be up right now if it the market wasn't getting spanked.
