October is the end of the tax year for many funds. It's probably just end-of-the-tax-year selling for some funds who, because they have losses elsewhere, can afford to take some profits without paying taxes. They may very well buy the same shares back in a few days and start all over again. [It only counts for taxes when you sell]. There really is no bad news anyone can find in Verticalnet so things should be better soon in the stock price. You will probably notice that lots of big winners and losers get sold by various funds at the end of October.
