wily, the big turning point was in August when Intel quietly announced they intended to develop a SDRAM (PC133) version of Camino - after repeatedly and vehemently denying in public that they would ever support PC133.

I predicted this, of course.

I'm 99% sure that, public statements to the contrary notwithstanding, Intel will support PC133. It just makes too much sense.

However, it's increasingly clear that Rambus can't replace SDRAM (and evolutions thereof) for PC main memory in the short term. So what is Intel going to do? That's the drama. (I've said before that I think Intel will capitulate and support PC133).
