a week ago, Needham Hans stated that total VCD market share in 1Q 1997 is 2.5M units with ESST shipping 1.7M units. Now that C-Cube's number is 2.6M units in 1Q alone, despite CD loader problems. I wonder who bought those chips? the aliens? No, silly. Look at C-Cube's design wins. You have consumer powerhouses like Hyundai, Samsung, Aiwa, Sony, Panasonic, Thackral, etc. C-Cube sells its chips to quality OEM customers.
