The party
general secretary and spokesman, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, reiterated that the
Government and the BJP would ``welcome' the Pope, who would be a state guest.
But some organisations, which had a different point of view, did have the democratic
right to protest, he said.
``Only Hindu India accepts that all faiths are like different streams leading towards one ocean.'

The core of the protest lies in that Christianity tries to convert others to the Christian
faith as it believes that man can get salvation only through Christ.

In another article, the magazine warned that the Pope would try to win over India
during his visit by making some announcement in relation to the process of conferring
sainthood on Mother Teresa. It denounced sainthood by pointing out that in the past
many crooks and even Hitler's admirers were conferred sainthood by the Vatican.
