Dear Robert,

I've got a lot of ambivalence toward BB. I'm not a subscriber, but I call his Hot Line to get a list of stocks to follow. I too have noticed that there is a tendency for anything he touts to go up a few days after the Hot Line, only to drop down to its pre-tout price.
I really can't stand his hyperbole. I made notes of the Hot Lines for 1994 and there were several stocks that were "sure doubles or triples" that went down for the count. He was really hot on DHK and Tli Kli Cho and the Utah law suit company. He said that Chase, one of his favorite stocks for '94, could very well be a $45 stock.

One year he listed his 3 favorite mining stocks at one conference, and I later read in a newsletter that a month before at a different conference his three favorite mining stocks for the year were three entirely different stocks.

He must make a million a year with his fax service alone (500 subscribers and $2000 a pop) And he probably made millions on DFR. I don't know how that adds in to the equation of whether to trust him or not.

The thing I find the most annoying is his refusal to take responsibility when his picks go south. I've never heard him apologize or admit he was wrong. But when he hits one, he rubs it in to those who didn't take his advice and buy.

For me, discovering the SI thread has been great. Instead of putting much weight on BB's recommendations, I can now check out the opinions of people that I have discovered are very knowledgable about mining stocks, probably more so than BB.

So, those are my rambling thoughts.
