Nanchate: A little flawed in history as Gates wrote a version of Basic which was actually developed at Dartmouth. He also bought his first O/S from a company in Seattle who had developed a 16 bit O/S for testing 16 bit chips. Gates' genius lies in application and marketing of the invention and innovations of others. Great ideas and patents are not enough unless the utility of application and the muscle of marketing are applied. He is the quintessential high tech businessman indeed and the company he has built will not be stopped by pundits comments or DOJ suits. This company is a juggernought.
