Well. I just got back from the AOL meeting. It was pretty interesting. On the question of a split: There were sev. questions posed about that. But S.Case was pretty good dodging those questions. One of those questions was when the Board of Directors would meet again and if they would decide on a split. Answer: Board of Directors meet every quarter but can call a meeting anytime.

All proposals up for voting were approved. I was surprised to see Directors Gen. Alexander Haig Jr. and Gen. Colin L. Powell there. Pretty impressive Board.

There was talk about implementing AOL soon in Brazil and HK was up and running.

Again. Meeting was great and S. Case and Company are still working on becoming the most valuable company.

AOL is looking at broadband, wireless and cable and is always in talks to improve service. One interesting quip, I thought, was to a question by a shareholder something like: I am moving to Alexandria into a Condo that is wired with Athm/Exite. What are you going to do about providing us with help? Answer: Best thing would be to move to another place. Laughter. But it was mentioned then that you can override that service.

All in all I got away from the meeting very pleased and have no problem holding on to my AOL.

I believe that the organizers of the AOL meeting were very surprised by such a good turnout of shareholders. They had to put up plenty more chairs and there was a big standing crowd.

Mr. Case mentioned that they had about 40 people attending their first meeting and most of them were employees then.

Before my wife and I left, I got to shake Mr. S. Case's hand and I congratulated him on doing a fine job for the company and us shareholders.

BTW. He mentioned at one point that AOL is up 300% in the last year. I guess we all know THAT even IF we bought some shares later.
