Speaking entirely without "big irony", I'm of two minds about the NCR move myself. I don't see that twister has made any case for the cause-effect relationship he's touting between that NCR decision and their (presumably defunct) Sun relationship. twister you seem to be saying nothing but "post hoc ergo propter hoc". Maybe you have something more substantial.

On the other hand, it's hard to see any legs remaining under the idea of multi-platform Solaris. Who now will sell Solaris on Merced, which Sun just nonetheless press-tidigitated? Maybe this is a good thing in terms of focus & execution for SUNW. Maybe a bad thing in terms of Solaris choices for big customers.
